Mr. Rodney Bailey, Instructor in the Department of English, has been selected to be the Colorguard Coordinator for the 2022 World Games, which will be held in Birmingham during summer 2022. In this role, Bailey will assist in the Production of the World Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, paying particular attention to the more protocol moments in the production, such as the parade of flags, the raising of the colors, and the placement of the Olympic, World Games, USA, Alabama, and China flags. In addition, Bailey will be responsible for the choreography performed by The World Games Colorguard. 

“It is an incredible honor to be invited to help coordinate these parts of this major international event,” said Bailey.

The World Games are held quadrennially, following every summer Olympics, and take place throughout eleven days. This sporting event is an opportunity for athletes who excel in sports that are not traditionally featured in the Olympics to get together and compete in front of a global audience.
