Faculty Research Symposium

On Thursday, November 2nd, Faculty Commons will host the 2023 Faculty Research Symposium in Merrill Hall. The Faculty Research Symposium is an interdisciplinary showcase of research and creative scholarship that celebrates the scholarly accomplishments and achievements of the faculty at JSU. It provides a collaborative space that encourages faculty to explore and share innovative ideas with faculty members outside of their discipline. This showcase explores the intellectual pursuits that shape our campus community and contribute to advancing knowledge in diverse fields. All faculty are invited to attend and discover the passion, expertise, and commitment of the Jax State faculty. This event is the product of the hard work and dedication of the Faculty Research Symposium Planning Committee.

The Geography of London and Paris
This interdisciplinary course aims to provide students with the opportunity to consider relationships between their lives, literature, and space and place. Students will read and analyze works of literature from various genres focused on London and Paris while simultaneously learning about geographic principles and the ways that geography influences our perception of ourselves and our worlds. The class will be listed for undergrads as EH 399, GY 399, or UH 399 and for graduate students as EH 569. This course will take place during the spring 2024 semester, with travel to London and Paris (required for any who take the course) occurring in the early part of May, with the latest return date of May 15.
