Congratulations to Scott King (Class of ’85) for receiving the Golden Apple Award this month at Starr’s Mill HS (Fayetteville, GA). This is Mr. King’s 23rd year at Starr’s Mill and 37th year in education. Mr. King was honored with this award for developing a program that has thrived for years and continues to improve, ensuring his students always have the best possible experience, feel inspired by his dedication, and benefit from his commitment to hard work. He has cultivated an environment where students can feel at ease with themselves while building meaningful connections with others.
Mr. King is a 9 time recipient of the National Band Association’s Citation of Excellence Award. His ensembles have played and been recognized on the national, regional, and state level. His students have marched in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band for over ten years as well as the US Army All-American Marching Band.
Mr. King is excited to pursue his next career in Project Management in a corporate setting.
