Dr. Cline, affectionately known as Dr. Frog, taught various biology-related courses at JSU for nearly 30 years. He was deeply involved in the community, conducting animal presentations and volunteering at the Anniston Museum of Natural History, where he played a key role in the annual HerpFest. He also led educational activities at the university’s Frog Pond. Recognized for his commitment, Dr. Cline received JSU’s Outstanding Community Education and Service Award in 2017 and a Faculty Research Award in 2004. Besides his academic pursuits, he was active in the Boy Scouts and the choir at the United Methodist Church of Jacksonville. Family was central to his life, with his wife, daughter, and son all connected to JSU. His passing sparked an outpouring of support on social media.
