Here are some final preparation tips and tricks to help students do their best on final exams. 

• Review the syllabus – reviewing the course syllabus can be a good reminder of what topics and material will be covered on the exam, and this can help students focus their study efforts  
• Create a study schedule – allocating time to study for exams can be difficult when students are taking several exams. Creating a study schedule can help students ensure they are giving themselves enough time to review all the material and help prevent last-minute cramming 
• Start early – procrastination can lead to stress of lack of thorough understanding of the material  
• Use active techniques – rather than simply reading or listening to notes, active study techniques such as creating flashcards, concept mapping, or teaching the material to someone else may be more beneficial in helping a student gain a thorough understanding of the material  
• Don’t rely on memorization – comprehending a concept, rather than simply memorizing it, will help students more easily answer a variety of questions on the exam 
• Practice questions – using past tests or practice questions the instructor provided throughout the semester or finding practice questions online may help familiarize students with the types of questions they may see on the exam 
• Manage time during the exam – being aware of time and pacing yourself throughout an exam can help ensure you will be able to complete the exam in the allotted time 
• Stay confident – being confident in your knowledge and approaching the exam with a positive mindset can positively impact your performance.
