Last month, the Spanish department took several students to Camp Lee in Anniston, Alabama for their annual Spanish Immersion Weekend where students have the opportunity to be immersed in Spanish culture for an entire day through food, music, games, and conversation. According to senior Alexzandria Quintero, this event is a great opportunity for members of the Spanish club who may not have the chance to take Spanish classes or practice speaking the language. “It’s tough but I would have to choose making and eating dinner as my favorite part of the event”, Quintero said. “I really enjoyed getting to share the experience with some people who don’t have as much familiarity in cooking and trying dishes from different Latin American countries (plus the food was great).”
