JSU faculty, staff, and students, as well as the public, are invited to attend a guest lecture featuring illustrator Marisol Ortega at Anders Hall (Roundhouse) on Thursday, February 23^rd, at 11:00 am. Based in Seattle, Washington, Ortega is a first-generation Mexican-American illustrator, letterer, and designer who has provided artwork to various companies and organizations, including Target, Starbucks, Seattle Seahawks, Penguin Random House, and Lush. 

She finds inspiration for her art in her childhood memories of visiting her abuela in Michoacán, Mexico, and in her well-known flora and fauna illustrations, Ortega delves into her cultures as she integrates lively colors, organic shapes, line-work, and different textures in the vibrant pieces.
