The application portal for the 2023 JSU Student Symposium opened on November 18. The JSU Student Symposium is an annual event at which undergraduate and graduate students showcase their scholarly and creative activity. JSU students who have conducted research or creative activities—typically for a class—are encouraged to apply and present their work.

Those participating in the Student Symposium not only gain professional experience by formally presenting their ideas in an academic setting shared with peers and professors, but also receive an opportunity to win one of several cash prizes being offered to the winners.

“I’m more than grateful that I was encouraged by my professors to present at the Student Symposium,” said Alexzandria Quintero, an English and Spanish major who presented at the 2022 Symposium. “The experience looks great on my resume, and my presentation led to me presenting two months later at the National Undergraduate Literature Conference.”

The application portal will close on 28 January 2023. The dates of the Student Symposium are February 13th and February 14th.
