Why did you choose your major?
I want to help people, and I chose my major because I want to do a little bit of everything in this field—not just drawing, painting, or digital work, but all of it. I figured that Graphic Design would allow me to explore different forms of art and maybe even help others along the way.
In your opinion, what is the coolest thing about the Art and Design Department?

I would advise a new student to join organizations and clubs–that’s one of the best ways to make friends with others who have the same interests.
What course would you recommend to a freshman at JSU?
I would recommend Drawing 1 to any Freshman at JSU, not just art students. It is so beneficial to have some sort of class that provides a break from intense academic courses, and Drawing 1 is also a class where students can develop a useful skill.
