All are invited to the first shows of the academic year: Original Spin, an exhibit featuring art by Renée Rey, and The Dream Deferred, a print exhibit.
Artist Renée Rey is an award-winning artist working in southwest Florida and New York City. In her Original Spin series of telescopic and intimate scaled paintings and mixed media artwork, Rey challenges traditional landscapes and human figuration. Rey invites the viewer to journey through ethereal alternative universes in an atmosphere of movement, metamorphosis, the sublime, and the mystical. This exhibit is in the Hammond Hall Gallery.
In our Roundhouse Art Gallery, we are proud to display a collection of prints from The Dreamed Deferred Print Exchange. Created by Christian Dunn (Assistant Professor of Graphic Design here at Jacksonville State University) and Geoff Sciacca (Associate Professor in the Art and Design Department at Samford University), the exchange seeks to add to the centuries-old conversation about systemic racism in our society and the current conversation around the Black Lives Matter movement.
JSU students, faculty, staff, and the general public are invited to schedule a viewing of this exhibition. The exhibitions will be on view September 3rd– September 24th,2020.
