The Foothills Piano Festival presents “Performing Your Best on All Fronts,” where music students will learn to perform with more confidence, focused intent, and enthusiasm. Dr. Cynthia MacCrae will discuss how to use the heart, mind, and body to help reach new heights on and off the stage. Hosted by JSU’s Department of Music, the event will take place at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville on Feb. 21st from 1:45-2:45 and is free and open to all who are interested. The evening before, Dr. MacCrae will perform a piano recital for the community where she will add to her musical artistry guided listening suggestions that might be linked to each piece. She will suggest thoughts, emotions, moods, and imagery such as those of daily hustle and bustle and releasing stress and welcoming empowerment. This program, also taking place at Jacksonville’s First Baptist Church, will begin at 7:30pm on Feb. 20th and is free and open to the public.
