The opening reception for artists Joey Slaughter and Jamie Johnson Aelavanthara is January 14th from 5-7pm in the Hammond Hall Gallery.
Joey Slaughter is a mixed media artist from Louisiana. His work will be featured in the Hammond Hall Gallery in an exhibition titled, “Don’t Yuck My Yum.” On his professional website, Slaughter provides context for this exhibit: “a common thread between my past work and my current work is the investigation of conversations between people, but now there’s a shift toward how we process and wear emotions…I am offering the viewer the processed emotions I see around me.”
Jamie Johnson Aelavanthara is a photographer from Florida who strives to create art that “explores themes of the human condition and our interconnectedness with nature.” Her exhibit will be displayed in the Roundhouse Gallery.
Both exhibits are open to the public until February 4th.
